Lenize Patton
Executive Director

"I have the incredible privilege to lead and work with an amazing group of staff, volunteers, and board members to assist those in need in our community.   Lenize was a special education teacher for eighteen years. Then she heard there were 276 homeless children in Onslow County. A  year later she started Philippians Place, a nonprofit organization,  and soon resigned from teaching.  Initially, Philippians Place provided transitional housing and mentored clients to help them find housing and resolve issues that had caused their homelessness.  Ultimately, the program moved from transitional housing to a program designed to help people in housing crisis gain stability again through an earnings program of life skills classes that they attend to earn vouchers to buy at our resale store and necessity pantry.

  Michele McKinnon
Resale Store Manager
"When I started at Philippians I was a volunteer! Its always fun to see what God has planned for you. If someone would have said "You're going to manage the store," I would have gotten a big giggle from that. I am so grateful He did. It is a blessing to be involved in our community, helping others. It is great to see everyone participate. I thank all our volunteers, our donators, our shoppers and staff. You all help to make Philippians Place possible. Keep us in your prayers."
