PROGRAMS (specific details)

Your financial donations, in-kind donations to our store and programs, and your purchases at our Thrift Store support our Homeless Outreach Programs!

Our Transitional Housing Program was created to address a gap in services in our community. Our Men's Transitional House "catches" those coming out of prison or rehab who have no place to go and no funds to provide for themselves. We provide the additional guidance and support they need to become successfully independent.

Our Transitional Housing Program is very structured and overseen

by our Transitional Housing Director that guides and assists clients

to navigate through their barriers and needs.

Previous Homeless Outreach

Program

The Homeless Outreach Program that we ran for seven years distributed community resources and information, assisted with obtaining essential items, and completed assessments to help those who are homeless get the support services they needed to get out of homelessness. â€‹â€‹

We taught participants budgeting skills, life skills, and spiritual strengthening to increase their opportunity to be self-sustaining.

We didn't provide financial "quick-fixes", instead, we provided the opportunity for clients to partner with a coach to face and navigate through their obstacles.

We assisted them in getting clothes and shoes. We provided access to computers, internet, email, and other necessary services to apply for employment and housing. We ordered birth certificates, IDs, and social security cards, and we allowed them to use our address to receive ordered identification and other mail.

Clients participated in classes Monday - Friday, and then those that participated could join in our Friday BINGO. Clients won transit cards, fuel cards, fast food restaurant gift cards, snack bags, purses, wallets, backpacks,

hygiene items, reading or activity books, and much more.

We also provided sleeping bags, tents, tarps, and homeless bag with hygiene items and food for those who were unsheltered in sleeping in their car, the woods, abandoned buildings, or other uninhabital places.

We partnered with our clients and served them by being a HAND UP, not a handout!
